The exact year of construction of this cabin is unknown. Actually, not much data about this cabin can be found at all. Inside is the remains of a classic New Idea No. 26 Woodstove. A book titled 'A Few Rustic Huts" by S.R. Gage mentions the following about this cabin,
'The metal sign on the door .. indicates that this old ranger cabin has been given a new lease on life as a trapline cabin. Members of the Golden Lake Band are permitted to trap in the eastern part of The Park, including the Guthrie Lake area.'
